The Case Mod Idea
Lately, a couple of us on the night shift have been talking a lot about building stuff. I guess we are all getting cabin fever from the cold winter months. We’ve talked about all kinds of things from building a Battlebot, to stealing random things from the office just to turn them into something else.
After a few nights of discussion, we actually came up with the idea of building a truly creative case mod for a PC. There have been a lot of good stuff to be done in recent years, but there still leaves a large area that has not even been tapped.
Some of my personal favorites:
Now given my PC knowledge and prior construction experience, I am pretty sure I can come up with something people have not seen before. There are several websites that run the occasional case mod competition. Most seem to happen around the summertime. I’ve decided that I’m going to give it a shot. I’ve got a few ideas running through my head for now:
- A greenhouse
- A toilet
- A chemistry set
- An office water cooler
I haven’t decided exactly which I am going to attempt, who knows maybe all of them down the road. I will say that the toilet idea was previously done here, but I am personally not a big fan of the design. Only time shall tell what I do. Check back in the future for updates.
